Activity Aide

Works under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreation Manager and senior activity worker to carry out a variety of recreation and social programs.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Assists residents to and from programs. Sets up and carry out recreation programming.
2. Maintains daily recreation statistics.
3. Keeps work areas clean, tidy and safe. Maintains recreation equipment.
4. Checks recreation supplies and notifies Therapeutic Recreation Manager when new supplies are required.
5. Provides direction to volunteers during recreation programs.
6. Monitors residents’ progress through recreation participation and reports observations to Therapeutic Recreation Manager or nursing staff as required.
7. Participates in team meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings and in-service education.
Graduation from a recognized 2 year diploma Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Coordinator program plus a minimum of 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Class 4 driver’s license (unrestricted)
- First Aide & CPR
- Food safe level 1
- Experience with residents with dementia
- Eligibility for membership in a professional association (BCTRA/LPABC)
- Cantonese or Mandarin speaking preferred
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
**Salary**: $27.86 per hour
