**Activity Worker**
**Job Summary**:
- The activity worker helps facilitate prevention programs and services based on best and promising practices. The position works closely with the prevention team at RASS, supporting new and established programs through program delivery and support.
**Grid Level**:
- Twenty-one (21). Community Bargaining Agreement.
**Benchmark**:
- Activity Worker.
**Hours**:
- FTE (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Some evening and weekend work is to be expected.
**Salary**:
- $27.11/hr.
**Reports to**:
- Prevention Specialist.
**Responsible to**:
- Executive Director.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Delivery**:
- Use education tools provided by Richmond Addiction Services Society (RASS) to deliver school and community programming.
- Participates in the development of activities by providing input to the prevention team.
- Accompanies groups on out trips as needed.
- Completes training as mandated by RASS leadership.
- Participate in community and agency events to promote RASS and to provide educational materials and information to the community of Richmond.
- Maintain records and documentation to evaluate all projects/programs.
- Works collaboratively with internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as required.
**Other Duties**:
- Safeguard staff and client privacy and safety.
- Implement other related duties as assigned.
- Conducts themselves in a professional and ethical manner.
**Qualifications**:
Grade 12 minimum 1-year related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
**Job Skills and Abilities**:
- Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Facilitate workshops, classroom management, and public speaking.
- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook, internet, and adobe acrobat.
- Able to organize self and others, and have good time management skills.
- General knowledge around the concepts of Harm reduction and addiction.
**Other Requirements**:
- As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial
- Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for RASS must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
- Check.
**Other Assets**:
- Certificates in CPR and First Aid.
- Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in an additional language.
- Creative and dynamic personality.
- Interested in the field of social services.
**Salary**: $27.11 per hour
