**Position Purpose**:
This position, reporting to the VP, Financial Analysis and Investments, oversees the financial transactions, analysis, reporting, and audit for an Alectra joint venture. This role also provides direct support to the joint venture’s business operations and to the growth and integration of new operations, strategic planning, budget and forecast, as well as managing the consolidation and intercompany transactions among various entities within the joint venture.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage day-to-day operation and financial transactions, including overseeing accounts receivables invoicing, accounts payable, journal entries, accounts reconciliations, payment collections and reports to external and internal parties;
- Manage the intercompany transactions among the initial 8 legal entities within the joint venture, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of consolidated financials;
- Lead integration for new acquisitions/partnerships as it relates to monthly reporting, GL integration, budgeting, cash reporting, financing and taxes;
- Collaborate with external lenders on financing support strategies including hedging for existing operations, and ensure that loan transactions and payments are processed timely and accurately;
- Oversee the development of and consolidate the 5-year financial plans/budgets and quarterly financial reporting for all operating entities within the joint venture, through working closely with the operations team;
- Manage month-end close process, including review and approval of journal entries, intercompany settlements, taxes schedules, etc., ensuring month-end close on time and accurately for all operating entities within the joint venture;
- Accountable for the thorough review of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting analysis, KPIs, dashboards, ad-hoc reports and overall review of the financial reporting package for reporting to the Board, as related to the joint venture;
- Recommend and implement new or enhanced financial reporting procedures and automation of business processes to improve operational effectiveness among all operating entities within the joint venture;
- Oversee capital calls, capital account and communication of capital calls to joint venture partners;
- Provide support to operations team to assist them in planning, review and reporting on capital project progress against targets, ensuring timely closing of completed projects;
- Lead on-going monitoring and implementation of accounting policies and procedures and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS;
- Oversee the preparation of the quarterly and annual IFRS financial statement notes ensuring the integrity and accuracy of consolidated financials for all companies within the joint venture;
- Prepare an annual and quarterly reconciliation of IFRS statements to US GAAP;
- Manage year end audit with external auditors and present results to the Joint Venture Board;
- Supervise Financial Analyst responsible for financial and business reporting and analysis;
- Act as main contact for and deal with customer on billing and financial related issues as related to the joint venture;
- Manage Distributions from the joint venture along with Board approvals;
- Manage and accountable for the interim and year-end financial audits as related to the joint venture including review of financial transactions, taxes and preparing white papers/issues memos on complex accounting issues;
- Accountable for Regulatory compliance as related to the joint venture including Regulatory filings of HST with Canada Revenue Agency, settlement and filing with the IESO and Ministry of Energy;
- Provide leadership and team development through effective team meetings, coaching, training and mentoring staff to ensure that departmental key performance indicators and departmental objectives are met;
- Ensures compliance to legislative, regulatory and Health & Safety policies, procedures and standards;
- Performs other duties to support the non-regulated business as assigned.
