A senior executive who is responsible for leading and managing the financial initiatives of the group of companies. Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO works in tandem with other C-suite executives and Vice Presidents. Supervise all accounting and finance personnel (controllers, team leaders and financial analysts).
Driving the company’s financial planning and analysis; monthly profit and loss forecast, key performance indicators (KPI), weekly 13-week cash flow forecast, and more.
Assess organizational performance against the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
Providing monthly borrowing base reports and quarterly compliance reports to the banks.
Manage relationships with banks, lenders, lawyers, auditors, and other vendors.
Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, lawyers, consultants and investment advisors).
Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s processes and internal controls.
Control and evaluate the organization’s debt and capital structure.
Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.
Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations.
Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies.
In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, internal controls, Canadian and U.S. tax rules.
Exceptional ability to monitor, allocate, and control finances on a large scale.
Ability to present financial analysis and projections to company stakeholders.
