We continue to expand and have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Detailing Lead.
- **Responsibilities**_
- Produce detailed shop drawings, BIM and CNC files (erection, assembly and parts) for in-house production per the scheduled production requirements as set out by the project managers and under supervision of the engineer of record.
- Assist in developing company detailing standards, typical system details/families, and procedures.
- Detailing of architectural and structural precast concrete members including integration of all trades and disciplines such as structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and building envelope in order to deliver a holistic, panelized product.
- Detailing structural steel and miscellaneous metal elements for fabrication.
- Produce precast and steel building layouts with input from structural and architectural contract drawings
- Planning and scheduling detailing requirements for multiple projects.
- Managing and coordination with sub contracted detailers, as required.
- Manage and innovate drawing storage system and procedures.
- Develop innovative techniques for conveying additional information or “dimensions” into shop drawings and BIM (logistics, shipping, costs, scheduling, progress, etc) for use by various company departments
- Participate in part production reviews in plant and occasionally on site
- **Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience**_
- Post-secondary education in engineering or engineering technology program
- Experience with structural steel detailing or concrete/precast detailing is a requirement.
- Experience with detailing architectural, mechanical or electrical systems considered an asset
- Proficiency with Tekla Structures or Revit, or other drafting/detailing softwares is a requirement.
- Keen mind for optimization and “systems” thinking to promote vertical integration throughout the company
- Ability to produce work in a timely manner while maintaining and promoting accuracy and quality of work with high attention to detail
- Previous experience with manufacturing and prefabrication preferred.
