We are actively seeking a talented **Mechanical Detailer** to join our team. You will play a crucial role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components. Your expertise is vital in creating innovative and efficient designs that meet the needs and specifications of our customers. **Purpose**:
The Mechanical Detailer is responsible for working closely with the DCBM Engineering team, participating in discussions with clients, as required, and staff on various projects, and contributing to the technical competence and production requirements of the discipline and integrity of industrial fan equipment. This includes the improvement of fan structures using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This position provides the necessary information to ensure the product designs meet customers’ requirements and DCBM's minimum cost margin structure within specified timelines while meeting quality and safety standards. The role also requires a comprehensive understanding of all product categories of fans.
Support the excellent experience of communication, continuous knowledge sharing, and use internal resources as a team player to meet engineering and manufacturing goals and deadlines with a high level of confidentiality and quality.
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, employees are also expected to complete other duties as required. All employees are expected to familiarize themselves with the Health & Safety and Human Resources manuals, work in conjunction with all policies and procedures at Daltec, and complete work as assigned to the best of their abilities.
**Key Position Responsibilities and Duties - w**_**ill include, but not be limited to**:_
- **Design**_
- Deliver design information according to required project timeframes, budgets, and standards by coordinating with project members and reviewing deliverables.
- Verify fan selection data.
- Prepare mechanical design of fan structure details.
- Finish design reports of industrial fans.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving during the fabrication process to ensure a quality product.
- Reverse-engineering.
- Prepare models and drawings for production, including an understanding of welded joints and the development of new products.
- Select and design spare parts for fans, considering the equipment’s specific requirements.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to determine the causes of fan failures and assess their reparability. Provide repair instructions and detailed drawings.
- **Quality**_
- Perform fan equipment malfunction analysis and provide necessary reports.
- Maintain consistent and detailed communication with the head designer to keep the department up to date on changes.
- Work with warranty cases and provide necessary information for service calls. Collaborate with the warranty department to ensure timely and accurate service support.
- **Design Analysis**_
- Perform fan structure evolutions using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or classical approaches.
- Perform fan structure and improvement (such as static stress, fatigue life, modal analysis, vibration analysis, power efficiency, etc.).
- Complete engineering analysis reports.
- **Project Management/Process Re-engineering**_
- Identify key tasks that may be able to be updated or altered to provide a faster turnaround or more efficient way of operating.
- Perform testing on assembled fans or sub-assemblies of fans (bump tests, cross-phase measurement, run-tests and flow tests).
- Parameterize standard products.
- Work not only with the engineering department but also with the procurement and warranty departments to ensure smooth operations and support.
- **Health and Safety**_
- Comply with all of DCBM corporate policies and procedures by adopting DCBM Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.
