Human Resources Assistant

The** Human Resources Assistant**, provides administrative support to the HR Team including activities related to recruitment, student & volunteer management, and human resources information management.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Completing reference checks as required;
- Assist with the preparation of employment offers, verification letters, etc.;
- Assist with setting up new employees in Workforce Now (WFN);
- Assist with rolling-out policies in WFN;
- Maintaining employee, student, and volunteer files;
- Assisting in the development of procedures;
- Assist in the development of Employee Practices Manual, uploading in WFN and developing appropriate links;
- Assist in maintaining filing system;
- Assist with the HR file archiving project;
- Assist with WFN reports;
- Providing HR administrative support.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
- Working towards a degree or diploma in Human Resources Administration/Management.
**Experience**:
- Experience using a Human Resources Information System;
- Experience working in fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking and flexibility;
- Experience with general administrative duties.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Strong organizational abilities;
- Effective time management skills;
- An ability to be a self-starter and work comfortably independently and as part of a team;
- Awareness of sensitivity to diversity issues and confidentiality;
- Flexibility and willingness to carry out tasks as needed.
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Satisfactory clearance under the Police Reference Check Program.
