Signals & Communications (S&c) Apprentice, Guelph

The S&C Apprentice reports to the S&C Supervisor but will typically be assigned to work under the direct guidance of either an S&C Lead Maintainer or a group of S&C Maintainers and will follow these more senior employees through their schedule rotation, which ensures that the client’s operation is covered 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days a year.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Ability to pass a company-issued Technical Aptitude Test
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks (including lifting and moving loads of approximately 50 lbs)
- Proficient and comfortable with climbing a signal structure wearing a fall-arrest harness
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Ability to follow company procedures and maintain a cordial relationship with clients
- Prior railway experience, especially in signals and communications or track is an asset
- College diploma in a related technical field (ex: telecommunications, electronics, etc.) is an asset
- Prior troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience is an asset
