The main task of a Conventional Machinist is to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts on a conventional lathe machine. Must be proficient in general machinist competencies as well as reading blueprints/ drawings.

**TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Understand and interpret the blueprints and technical drawings;
- Conduct a first production trial;
- Make correction according to the results of the first trial and make necessary adjustments as required;
- Verify machining of parts and make necessary corrections;
- Polish machines parts;
- Maintain work area, equipment and tools;
- Advise your supervisor of necessary repairs or defects of tools and/or equipment;
- Participate in training new employees;
- Execute all related tasks;

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- DEP in conventional machining;
- 1 to 3 year of work experience as a conventional machinist;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings;
- Be adaptable, capable to learn quickly, detailed-oriented and punctual;
- Able to work on your own as well as in team;
- Reach a good execution speed;
- Bilingual French and English is an asset;

La tâche principale d’un machiniste conventionnel est de mettre en place et de faire fonctionner une variété de machines-outils pour produire des pièces de précision sur un tour conventionnel. Il doit maîtriser les compétences générales de machiniste et lire les plans / dessins.

**TÂCHES ET RESPONSABILITÉS**:

- Comprendre et interpréter les plan et dessins techniques;
- Vérifier que la première pièce correspond au critère du dessin;
- Corriger selon les résultats du premier essai et ajuster si requis;
- Vérifier le machinage effectué et effectuer les corrections nécessaires;
- Effectuer le polissage des pièces usinées;
- Effectuer l’entretien aire de travail, équipements et/ou outils utilisés;
- Aviser le superviseur de tous bris ou défectuosités des outils et/ou équipements utilisés;
- Participer à la formation des nouveaux employés et/ou stagiaires;
- Appliquer les règles de Santé et Sécurité au travail en vigueur de l’entreprise en tout temps;
- Effectuer toutes autres tâches connexes;
**EXIGENCES**:

- Posséder DEP en usinage et connaissance du conventionnel;
- Être bilingue verbal;
- Expérience de 5 ans comme machiniste conventionnel;
- Maîtriser la lecture et l’interprétation de dessin;
- Être adaptable, capable d’apprendre;
- Être minutieux, ponctuel, polyvalent et autonome;
- Atteindre une vitesse d’exécution**;**:
