**POSITION TITLE**:

**PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES / ACCOUNTABILITY**

Reporting to the Sustainability and Quality Manager, the Scale Room Operator is responsible for the day to operation of the Scale House. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and the occasional weekend.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Processing accurate records for the transportation and receipt of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Manage trucks operating onsite including ensuring the health and safety of drivers, directing traffic, communicating information to the tip floor.
- Resolve variances of scale readings with the customers.
- Keeping accurate and organized files related to the scale house operation.
- Responsible for safety orientation of drivers accessing the site and the marshalling area safety.
- Relief Switchboard operation.
- Keeping a clean and organized shared workspace.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail in order to maintain documentation with regards to both corporate and government policies.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Applicant must possess good communication skills and be computer literate.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is an asset.
- Applicant should hold a Grade 12 Certificate, be self-motivated and must have customer service-related experience (2 years)
- Having hands-on knowledge of weigh scale software and computerized maintenance programs is an asset.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 15 months

**Salary**: $23.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
