Mississauga, Canada Building Opportunities Licensed Home Child Care Full time

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Travel: This position will require travelling through Region of Peel.

Building Opportunities is a licensed home child care agency with multiple child care programs within the Region of Peel. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate team leader that can visit child care programs, support educators and complete administrative duties.

Home Child Care Program Visit Responsibilities:

- Perform unannounced visits to child care provider on a regular basis to interact with the children to ensure their needs are being met in a safe manner, a program is in place and all regulations are being followed.
- Document the results, make recommendations and follow-up on areas of deficiencies.
- Complete both internal and external checklists, including from the Ministry of Education.
- Ensure Serious Occurrence Procedures are in place and respond to serious occurrences as required.
- Coach providers on best practices and child development, as well as provide overall guidance and support
- Responsibility for annual reviews, planning workshops and other related tasks.
- Provide referrals to agencies and supporting parents as requested.

Administrative responsibilities:

- Management of all **Ministry of Education documents and guidelines**:

- Up to date with changes on CCLS
- Fee subsidy (OCCMS), Payroll, CWELCC monthly reconciliation
- Implementation and adherence to agency policies and procedures to optimize programs, write, update and review policies and procedures.
- Ensure all children have proper paperwork on file, including their health information, allergies, details of any medical conditions they suffer from and authorization from the parents stating who is allowed to pick the child up from the facility
- Knowing how to use parent portal apps an organizational management tool, to check enrollment projections and staff hours
- Maintains relationships with key stakeholders such as: building management, Toronto Public Health, Vendors, Suppliers, and all other third-party providers for the centre
- Reporting to the Director/Centre owner on a weekly basis or more often if required ( Report on enrollment, exits, staff and overall operations)
- Interview potential educators and open new programs within the Region of Peel

**Skills**:

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Understanding and ability to work within a budget
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills
- Computer knowledge; including Excel, Word, CCLS, and the Children’s Services website
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution and motivational skills
- Ability to effectively work collaboratively and independently
- Problem Solving and ability to work independently

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in a childcare centre
- MUST have a RECE Designation and be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate
- All necessary up-to-date immunizations (or able to obtain a notarized Statement of Conscience or Religious Belief for immunization exemption)
- Experience dealing with Toronto Children’s Services
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (current within 6 months, or willing to obtain)
- Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen?, and Child Care Licensing Manual
- Basic accounting knowledge would be an asset
- Valid Ontario’s Drivers License and access to a car is required

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
