- About the roleAs ATB's Associate Solutions Specialist, Trade Finance, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our trade finance operations. You will collaborate closely with internal partners to strengthen our relationships and capabilities in delivering trade finance solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising on and managing trade finance deals, fostering partnerships, and driving the growth of our trade finance offerings across ATB Financial.

You will establish and nurture connections with valued partners, stakeholders, and advisors in retaining/attracting existing and new trade finance relationships.
- Accountabilities- Advise on standard trade finance deals from initiation to completion, taking responsibility for managing client relationships throughout the process.
- Act as the in-house trade finance and letter of credit facilitator providing support to senior trade finance specialists for standard and complex trade deals.
- Provide technical support for both standard and complex trade finance transactions, assisting senior specialists as needed.
- Support the Trade Finance team and foster impactful relationships with key stakeholders across Advisory Services in order to identify opportunities for customers to engage in trade finance.
- Take ownership of developing and expanding trade finance capabilities across ATB, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Business Solutions goals.
- Facilitate and operationalize relationships with domestic and international FIs, including export development agencies and other trade-related entities.
- Work with internal partners to help facilitate ATB’s correspondent banking relationships and global Financial Institutions (“FIs”)
- Educate internal teams and external stakeholders on ATB’s trade finance products, pricing, and their integration with other financial products.
- Operationalize relationships with FIs in emerging markets, work closely with domestic and foreign export development agencies, and implement international trade programs.
- Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximize end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.

Accreditation:

- Prior experience in international trade and letters of credit with the ability to demonstrate innovative and forward thinking
- Bachelor's degree in Business, such as Finance, International Trade or other related field
- 5+ years of experience structuring transactions for clients in domestic and/or international markets
- Working knowledge of Letters of Credit, CDSC or other LC training is an asset
- Experience working within the ecosystem of programs designed to support Canadian businesses who are importing and exporting
- Trade Finance certifications an asset
