**CLINICAL TEAM LEAD; MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTION CLINICIAN**

**Title: Clinical Team Lead/Primary Counsellor, Outpatient Services**

**Department: Intensive Outpatient Program, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Team**

**Reports to: Clinical Director**

**The position will be a dual role as a Clinical Team Lead as well as Primary Counsellor. It is imperative that the incumbent be fluent in both English and French. French is the primary language for this role.**

**Team Lead responsibilities under the direction and support of the Clinical Director**:

- Provide coaching and support to clinical staff both individually and in groups to support the continuous improvement of staff skills and clinical range in the delivery of client care
- Oversee reporting and documentation in WAGON and work with team members to complete overdue documentation in a timely manner for quality assurance
- Make recommendations for process and quality improvement using evidence-based practices
- Assist with adequate coverage of group programming
- Provide feedback to staff as required, escalating performance issues to the Clinical Manager and/or Director
- Support administrative processes
- Maintain excellent referent and partner communication
- Assist with SUD group clinical supervision as needed
- Participate in employee recruitment, as required
- Participate in the development and implementation of new processes or initiatives as directed
- Celebrating team successes
- Other duties as assigned

**Mental Health and Addiction Clinician** **responsibilities/duties include**:

- Provide individual, group, and family therapy, education, and ongoing assessment of client progress
- Case coordination and communication across an inter-professional team
- Timely communication with referral agencies, offering support and guidance to clients and their families
- Competently manages clients with various addictions and mental health issues including mental health and substance use disorders.
- Identify treatment issues and goals with clients, coordinating across clinical teams as needed
- Collaborate in the development, implementation and follow-up of the client care plan, discharge plan and summaries
- Complete detailed documentation and charting appropriately
- Prepares reports or correspondence in timely manner
- Participate in weekly clinical rounds and consultation meetings, making recommendations on basis of the client progress to the team
- Support a framework of accountability for clients in their recovery
- Communicate with families on an as needed basis
- Engage in professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to the Human Resources Department
- Provide student supervision, as required, as qualified
- Other duties as assigned
