This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - **Non-Profit Homes in Toronto
Reporting to Program Manager, the Team Lead of the HOST (Community Mental Health) Team enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients, visitors, staff and volunteers by working as a member of a dynamic team of individuals to make a difference in the lives of our clients. Through responsible leadership and effective role modelling, the Team Lead is responsible for the demonstration of the Mission, Vision and Values at work within Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes, Toronto Program.

**How You Will Make an Impact**

Additionally, the role requires active participation in team meetings and decision-making processes, adherence to health and safety standards, maintaining the confidentiality policy at all times, and carrying a cell phone for on-call coverage. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to assist clients in achieving their mental and physical health goals is also a critical function. This position may involve additional job-related tasks as required by the Program Manager, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client care and staff support within our organization.

Other responsibilities include supporting the development of our staff and the clients we serve. This includes assisting with the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and mentorship of new staff, ensuring a work environment that exemplifies leadership and models behaviors aligned with our core values. The role also involves supporting team members through resource building, facilitating case conferences, and providing necessary support for our clients, either by leading team meetings or offering one-on-one assistance. Maintaining service statistics, client records, and program documentation, as well as reporting any trends to the Program Manager, are key aspects of this position.

**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or equivalent plus two years' work-related experience, particular to persons who experience mental illness and homelessness.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Hospitality, Quality and Dignity.
- CPR/First Aid certification and WHMIS training.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing work environment.
- Creativity and flexibility in achieving desired outcomes.
- Hospitable in dealings with clients/public / volunteers / staff, and other key stakeholders.
- Available and responsive to the needs of others.
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
- Organizational skills to provide client assessments, direct service, community liaison work, and documentation are required.
- Computer literacy is mandatory.
- Must be committed to principles of psychosocial rehabilitation, the Recovery model, and a harm reduction approach.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity, respect for client independence and empowerment, and consumer-driven care.
- A driver's license and clear drivers abstract is recommended.
