Our Investment Finance - System Accounting (IFSA) team is seeking a Specialist to help the group perform highly specialized system accounting functions across a multi-layered investment pool structure for AIMCo’s clients. The IFSA team oversees the integrity of the accounting configuration within SCD, AIMCo’s portfolio accounting system, and book of records to ensure compliance with the various accounting standards, as well as the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data within the Snowflake platform.

Responsibilities Include:

- Ensuring the integrity of the system configuration to comply with various accounting standards and completeness and accuracy of accounting data within Snowflake.
- Researching and keeping current on accounting treatments and best market practices to provide appropriate system accounting direction on configuration setup and workflow design.
- Resolving complex calculation/ configuration/ mapping, and integration issues in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Overseeing all SCD change management activities and providing the asset owner approval to ensure change results comply with accounting standards.
- Providing asset owner oversight, approval and due diligence over access controls and SCD/Snowflake tickets.
- Improving IFSA documentation and participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of IFSA policies, procedures and tools to ensure controls and support CSAE 3416 reporting requirements in close collaboration with the Director, IF - Client Financial Reporting and System Accounting.

Success Factors:

- Strong academic credentials with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Recognized accounting/finance designation or equivalent.
- Excellent data analytics and technical skills in various programming languages and data visualization software such as PowerBI, Power Queries, SQL Server, Python, Snowflake, etc.
- Knowledge and familiarity with SimCorp Dimension (SCD) will be considered a strong asset.
- Proven track record of taking initiative to independently research and resolve issues.
- Problem-solving skills, collaborator, multi-tasker, mentor, presenter, strong attention to detail. big picture thinker. Supervisory skills are considered an asset.
- Knowledge of capital markets and complex investment products with a desire to continue learning in a rapidly changing environment.
