**Job Summary**:
The Volunteer Coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing volunteer management for YWCA
Edmonton's upcoming events, including the Casino fundraiser. This temporary summer position requires a
dynamic and organized individual who can effectively recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to ensure
the successful execution of these events.

**Employment Type**:
Full-time (35 hours/week), hours typically between Monday - Friday. Some additional after hours or
must be between the ages of 18-30.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers, reflecting YWCA

Edmonton's commitment to inclusivity and equity.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to volunteers based on their skills, interests, and understanding of

YWCA Edmonton's commitment to equity.
- Create and manage volunteer schedules, considering the diverse needs of volunteers and event

participants.
- Maintain open and clear communication with volunteers, emphasizing YWCA Edmonton's

dedication to supporting marginalized groups.
- Act as the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, ensuring that information is accessible

and accommodating for all.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer contact information, with a focus on privacy and

sensitivity.
- Prepare reports on volunteer participation, ensuring inclusivity and representation are reflected in

the data.
- Develop and implement a recognition program that celebrates the unique contributions of all

volunteers, emphasizing YWCA Edmonton's commitment to diversity.
- Work closely with other YWCA Edmonton staff, event organizers, and external stakeholders,

fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with the organization's values.
- Conduct post-event evaluations with volunteers.
- Use feedback to enhance future volunteer management strategies, continuously improving the

organization's commitment to equity and empowerment.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in volunteer management or event coordination is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing event dynamics.
- Knowledge of YWCA Edmonton's commitment to equity, empowerment, and supporting

marginalized communities is an asset.
