**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders. Ensure that budgets are realistic and aligned with project goals.
- Continuously monitor project expenses, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead. Identify discrepancies and variances from the budget.
- Analyze cost data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas of concern. Provide regular reports and recommendations to project management.
- Review and assess change orders, evaluating their impact on the project budget. Communicate changes to relevant parties and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that materials, equipment, and services are acquired at competitive prices and within budget constraints.
- Develop cost forecasts to predict future expenses and provide early warnings about potential budget overruns.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to negotiate favorable terms and monitor their performance in relation to budget compliance.
- Organize and maintain project cost-related documents, such as invoices, receipts, and financial records.
- Prepare regular cost reports for project management and stakeholders, highlighting budget performance and any financial risks or opportunities.
- Ensure that all financial activities and decisions are in compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Collaborate with project teams to address budget-related issues.
- Assist in the financial closeout of projects, reconciling final costs, evaluating financial performance, and ensuring that all financial documentation is complete and accurate.
**Key Qualifications/Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in a construction cost control or financial analysis role.
- Knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, and financial management.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to construction finance.
- Strong financial acumen and business sense.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Adaptable and able to handle changing project requirements and priorities.
