A day in the life

As the Energy Storage Development Analyst, you will be working alongside real estate and energy developers to aid in the strategy, selection, and design of distributed and transmission level battery energy storage systems across the US. With a team of less than 10 members, there will be plenty of opportunities for collaboration with the team, contribution to our processes, and impact to our portfolio of over 9,000 MW of energy storage projects.

Key responsibilities include:

- Build, modify, and own discounted cash flow models used to analyze returns for prospective energy storage projects.
- Work directly with Energy and Real Estate stakeholders in preparing investment memos for higher level management and Investment Committee.
- Maintain and monitor project pipeline in Salesforce, Smartsheet, and quarterly Development Pipeline Presentation to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain project trackers and hold responsible parties accountable to deliverables and timeline.
- Develop key longstanding relationships with Prologis corporate functions (legal, investment services, finance, treasury, accounting), and external parties such as EPCs, engineering consultants, and interconnection consultants.
- Review technical design documents such as single line diagrams, metering diagrams, site layouts, and interconnection study results and mitigate any concerns with the Engineering department.
- Create a database of energy storage equipment costs and be in volved in discussions to ensure that equipment procured matches required specifications.
- Coordinate with Engineering to produce required initial design deliverables for interconnection.
- Analyze, interpret and create real estate documents including, but not limited to leases, deeds, surveys, and roof reports.
- Analyze, interpret and create energy documents including, but not limited to interconnection agreements, helioscopes, PVSyst, PPAs, EPC Contracts, and invoices.
- Ability to effectively communicate and develop relationships with other internal functions (Legal, Investment Services, Environmental, Finance, etc.)Track pursuit costs for projects relating to interconnection, land due diligence, and development engineering to then consolidate into a memo to request allocation for the year and forecast for following years.

Building blocks for success

Required:

- 1+ years experience in the Energy industry with a focus in Finance, Economics, or Engineering, preferred. This can be substituted with a combination of a bachelor’s degree and 2 internships in same areas.
- Experience in building cash flow models using Microsoft Excel with solid understanding of financial concepts such as net present values, internal rates of return, cap rates, etc.
- Other software knowledge to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Chrome, Google Earth, and Adobe Acrobat. PeopleSoft, Yardi, and Salesforce is a plus.
- Proven experience managing many tasks and projects while still meeting deadlines and keeping quality in deliverables.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Genuine curiosity and desire to learn about the energy industry, and willingness to contribute to discovering the most efficient process for the team.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
