Director, Technical Program Manager

Overview

We are looking for a Director, Technical Program Manager to join our Vancouver office.

Role:
The Director, Technical Program Manager (TPM) will drive successfully program outcomes by:

- Leading a global team of individual contributors or potentially first level managers who are who are conceptualizing, rationalizing, and driving multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work
- Driving a data driven and continuous learning culture across the team and the program it supports
- Ensuring team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; visibly ties department decisions to leadership principles and tenets
- Leveraging a deep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems
- Inspecting rigorously the delivery plans and execution metrics of your TPMs using your own tech depth and business acumen to assess risks and continuously raising the delivery bar
- Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators on the organization’s score card and move them in a positive direction
- Providing strategic technical and program delivery thought leadership for the organization
- Building and cultivate strong internal customer relationships to establish engagement models for your team and ensure delivery is in alignment with expectations
- Managing escalations
- Strengthening and developing your managers and your technical staff while continuously raising the bar on performance, technical depth, program management results, and people management as you hire new technical program managers
- Planning and advocating for department resources

About You:

- Demonstrated success at leading global team outcomes
- Demonstrated success at leading teams & trains with complex technical stacks including business rules engines, high-speed caching capabilities, big data lakes, and AI technologies
- Adept at building consensus and leading resolution of contentious issues across leadership levels
- Expert in agile & waterfall development methodologies, including managing multiple solution delivery trains simultaneously
- Thrives working with highly technical products in a fast-paced delivery environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional Data Science, Development teams, and the core product business teams
- Demonstrated success at Improve program processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality across multiple program dimensions
