**Job Summary**:
The Inventory Control Specialist is a key player in leading the company’s inventory and purchasing strategies. Reporting directly to the General Manager, they are responsible for ensuring a well-coordinated purchasing, reception, and distribution of materials, monitoring inventory trends, and maximizing the department’s efficiency and productivity. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

**Primary Roles & Responsibilities**:
The Inventory Control Specialist brings value to the organization through a variety of roles and responsibilities, including:
Optimizing inventory and purchasing processes by:

- Devising ways to refine inventory control and counting procedures.
- Leading annual inventory counts.
- Performing spot checks and reconciling discrepancies between inventory tracking and software.
- Utilizing inventory tracking software to track incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Coordinating with the Logistics Coordinator to prepare for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Coordinating with the Purchaser to ensure stock is replenished, and insufficient or excessive surplus is avoided.
- Monitoring demand and levels of business supplies and raw materials to identify and flag upcoming shortages.
- Evaluating suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trusted relationships.
- Inspecting incoming materials to ensure quality and specification requirements are met.
- Collaborating with Supply Chain and Warehouse staff to ensure inventory business goals are met.
- Coordinating with Production and Machine Shop departments to ensure they have the materials to operate.
- Participating in meetings with various departments to ensure departmental alignment with business goals.
- Participating in the development of SOPs and ERP, FIFO, JIT, and other systems.
- Preparing reports on inventory numbers and storage costs.
- Fostering a mindset to continuously improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education **& Qualifications**:
The Inventory Control Specialist will have the following qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field is required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory control and/or purchasing is required.
- Experience in a leadership role is an asset.
- Working knowledge of inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Ability to accurately track and forecast inventory and create reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical mind with strong mathematical skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid forklift operating license.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle.

**Salary**:

- Wage starts at $25.50 per hour.
