**ABOUT THE EQUALITY FUND**
The Equality Fund is transforming the way that resources—and power—flow into the hands of women, girls and gender expansive people worldwide. Designed by feminists for feminists, it is a model for sustainably resourcing feminist movements everywhere, through global grantmaking, gender-lens investing, policy advocacy, and feminist philanthropy. Launched in 2019, the Equality Fund has committed $53 million to date and is supporting 650 organizations working in 90 countries globally.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Reporting to the Director, Learning and Impact, the Manager, Learning and Impact will lead and implement the Equality Fund’s (EF) grantmaking-specific Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning strategies. The Manager works horizontally with key business units to facilitate and lead the ongoing development of EF’s data collection, analysis, and reporting strategies. In addition to working with the global programs team on EF’s grantmaking MEL strategy, the Manager also works in collaboration with the Director of Learning and Impact to support the implementation of EF’s broader organization-wide MEL strategy.
**SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Organization-wide Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning_
- In collaboration with the Director, Learning and Impact, supports the implementation of EF’s organization-wide MEL plan, based on the MEL strategy;
- Advises on a range of feminist MEL methods and approaches, ie. outcomes harvesting, stories of most significant change;
- Incorporates feminist expertise and approaches into all elements of EF MEL practices, ie. design MEL engagements which shift power to traditionally marginalized communities and voices
- Participates in and contributes to a horizontal community of practice of learning and impact designing, testing and implementing the Equality Fund’s MEL strategy;
- Supports knowledge building and learning projects related to understanding EF’s role, impact and contribution to change;
- Supports other program management and compliance processes as needed; and
- Acts in accordance with our policies around nurturing a safe and respectful work environment; never engaging in harassment, coercion, sexual exploitation or abuse of any form, or anything else contrary to our code of conduct.
- Global Programs (Grantmaking) Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning_
- Leads the implementation of global program’s MEL framework and the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive MEL system for multiple grantmaking streams;
- Leads grantmaking reporting to bilateral donors as well as inputs into EF’s annual organization report;
- In collaboration with the global programs team, leads the continuous improvement of EF’s data collection tools and data management processes;
- In collaboration with the global programs team, leads in the design and development of knowledge products showcasing the grantmaking program’s impact;
- Fosters experimentation and the use of innovative methods (video and audio reporting, social media tracking) to collect quality monitoring information in non-traditional and less burdensome ways;
- Works with global programs staff to support grantee partners in documenting progress, lessons learned, and success stories about how women’s rights organizations are innovating at the grassroots level;
- Works closely with global programs staff to design monitoring and learning visits and disseminate findings both internally and externally;
- Supports the annual reporting process for EF’s grantee partners, working with global programs team to assess progress based on grantee reporting;
- Contributes to the design and implementation of collaborative initiatives to advance the ‘proof of concept’ of women’s funds and the effectiveness of their funding model;
- Represents EF at meetings and conventions; and
- Provides direction, support and feedback to the Officer, Learning and Impact; conducts weekly check-in meetings to discuss progress/challenges while strategizing, planning, executing, and celebrating accomplishments
**QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES**
- Undergraduate degree in women’s studies, human rights, international development or related field, or equivalent experience.
- University-level academic or professional training in program monitoring and evaluation is considered an asset.
- At least five years of work experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, at least one of which is in social justice, human rights, grantmaking or international development organization.
- Strong understanding of feminist issues, advocacy, movement building challenges and/or funding environment facing women’s rights organizations in the global South
- Demonstrated experience with feminist MEL approaches and methods for data collection and analysis
- Demonstrated experience with qualitative data coding and analysis; experience with ImpactMapper or NVIVO is an asset
