**GENERAL SUMMARY**

Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Financial Operations or designate, the Finance

Coordinator is responsible for providing relief for Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. In addition, the

Finance Coordinator will support the Administrative function.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Customer Service**
- Contributes to the success of our team and creation of our community, by fostering the District of Squamish

- Provides exemplary customer service to both external and internal clients.

**Payroll Duties**
- Prepares the bi-weekly payroll.
- Prepares and enters journal entries.
- Performs payroll reconciliations.
- Applies and complies with Federal and Provincial Acts and Regulations, collective agreements and internal

policies and procedures relating to payroll.
- Calculates and prepares remittances and completes the required documentation for employee and employer

portions of all statutory deductions, pension contributions, benefit premiums payable and miscellaneous

deductions, and reconciliations for external agency reporting.

**Accounts Payable Duties**
- Performs accurate and timely entry of invoices.
- Prepares and distributes EFT’s and cheques.
- Prepares and enters journal entries.
- Researches and responds to enquiries from suppliers and staff members.
- Performs supplier statement reconciliations.
- Prepares statutory, compliance, and other external agency reports related to the accounts payable function.

**Accounts Receivable Duties**
- Performs general cashier functions.***
- Prepares accounts receivable invoices.***
- Verifies discrepancies and resolves client billing issues.***
- Prepares correspondence, documents, and reports as required.***

Performs other financial and administrative duties as required.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Knowledgeable of and experience working with payroll policies, procedures and related acts and regulations.
- Knowledgeable of and experience working with the procure to pay processes.
- Organized, efficient, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with other staff.
- Ability to adapt and respond to administrative and technological change.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation.
- Ability to work overtime from time to time.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office.

**REQUIRED TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Two years’ experience in payroll in a high volume, unionized environment.
- Two years’ experience in accounts payable in a high volume environment.

**OR**
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

**Salary**:$33.48 per hour

This is a Union position within the Collective Agreement of CUPE Local 2269 and the District of Squamish.
