Job Title: Peer Coordinator for the Tri-Cities

Department: Overdose response - CAT Grant

Reports to: Executive Director or Designate

Hours: Part Time (10-15 hours per week). Hours variable, some evenings and weekends required

Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Timeline: February 2024 - December 2024

Job summary

We are looking for a peer coordinator to join our team part time to bring in the voice of those with lived or living experience to the CAT - someone who is compassionate, engaging and self aware. Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Leadership team
- Meet with all identified pers and identify peer-led strategies for peer led objectives. The peer coordinator will be working in conjunction with the project coordinator and will be keeping the TC CAT leadership team informed of progress on the peer deliverables.
- Objectives may include: Strategic planning, decision making, peer to peer support, addressing barriers to safe supply, naloxone training and distribution, harm reduction supplies, and employment opportunities for peers
- Attend community events to increase public awareness and provide resource information about toxic drug supply response
- Attend monthly CAT meetings on a leadership and stakeholder level - this includes bringing peers to the table
- Assist the Project Coordinator and the TC CAT leadership team to track statistics and develop evaluation measures on peer projects to inform future ventures Qualification, Experiences and Abilities
- Many forms of education and experience are valued, including volunteering and lived experience of mental health challenges, substance use, homelessness, and lived experience of harm reduction practices.
- Willingness to share personal story
- Experience with public speaking, delivering and facilitating (meetings and education sessions)
- Current First Aid training (Training can be arranged with the TC CAT upon request) -Valid BC Driver’s license an asset but not required
- Use of reliable vehicle an asset but not required
- Knowledge of community resources
- Have completed or willing to complete the “Take Home Naloxone Train the Trainer Course”
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to adapt to a variety of settings
- Criminal Record Check is required Additional Information:

- Mileage is paid where driving for work performed is required

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
