**Job Summary**

As an Assistant Branch Manager you will provide ongoing operational support to the Branch Manager. You and the Branch Manager will work together to implement the firms directives and ensure that a high level of service quality is evident in all aspects of day-to-day operations.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work with the Branch Manager collectively to conduct daily, weekly and monthly reviews of transactions and other retail activity within the branch with the purpose of detecting violations of IIROC Rule 2600 and IIROC Uniform Market Integrity Rules;
- Design and implement practice management initiatives in an effort to provide all advisor teams with the tools they need for their continued success;
- Maintain a working knowledge of the industry, AML rules and regulations, and RJL policies and procedures by reading regulatory bulletins and notices, internal bulletins and policies, and completing industry or internal courses that would fulfill your CE requirements on a timely basis;
- Provide ongoing education to advisors about existing and new regulations governing retail activity; and back-up (i.e. assist with trade entries) to Financial Advisors;
- Assist with completion of internal and external compliance audits;
- Supervise branch administrative staff and manage Human Resources issues;
- Assist Financial Advisors and Sales Assistants in dealing with their work concerns and interactions with back office operations in order to facilitate client support;
- Review all New Account documentation before it is signed by the Branch Manager;
- Assist Branch Manager in achieving business objectives including preparation of branch budgets, the review of month end financial reports, and the resolution of variances;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

**Knowledge of**
- Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry; and
- Management and supervision.

**Ability to**
- Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;

- Manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy;
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
- Demonstrate a professional manner to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization;
- Assist others with flexibility and willingness as required;
- Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and
- Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.

**Educational/Previous Experience Requirements**
- 3-5 years in the Investment Brokerage or Financial Services Industry;
- A diploma or degree; and
- Previous supervisory or management experience is an asset.

**Licenses/Certifications**
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH); and
- Successful completion of the Registered Representative licensing is an asset.
