- Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, the Live-in Treatment Overnight Awake Child and Youth Worker will work closely with children ages 7 to 12, and foster a responsive, empathetic and nurturing therapeutic environment that addresses the social and emotional needs of children in a home milieu setting. Primarily, this role is designed to provide direct care to children during the overnight hours, which involves utilizing strategies and approaches that contribute to the on-going assessment and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team. This is an ideal opportunity for Child and Youth Care Workers **and** Social Service Workers to work with children in an intensive and dynamic milieu setting.**Employment Status**:Permanent, Full-Time**

**Location**: Queensville Facility, this position will require travel within York Region.**Hours of Work**: Forty (40) hours per week, overnight from 10 pm to 8 am, including weekends.**A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Actively develop positive rapport with clients in the program to create psychological safety and trust through relationship-building activities and observation of the client’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensure client safety by following Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) guidelines for crisis prevention and de-escalation, following agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in the assessment of new clients, review of admission documents, preliminary briefings and support in assisting in the preparations for admission within a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide daily activities, routines, and behavioural support that is both developmentally and clinically appropriate for children in the program based on client needs.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the living space, specifically client rooms, bathrooms, grounds and common spaces.
- Facilitate therapeutic and treatment group meetings, including regular house meetings to obtain client feedback and to address concerns following agency-approved models.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions on client cases, treatment plans and progress with a multidisciplinary team.
- Prepare written documentation as required by York Hills and external partners, including completing checklists that include meal planning and preparation, food ordering, laundry, and cleaning.
- Actively report serious occurrences, including daily reporting and medication administration.
- Work closely with the Program Manager and Coordinator to co-develop, implement and track treatment interventions, including reporting intervention outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- Completion of post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care Worker or Social Service Worker or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- First Nation, Inuit or Métis (FNIM) Elder, Knowledge Keeper, Healer, Medicine Person, Cultural Person with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience utilizing a variety of interventions and skilled in milieu counseling, assessment and group work.
- Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making in an intensive environment.
- Exhibits strong observation and attention to detail skills.
- Employs emotional intelligence to manage and co-regulate self and client during intensive situations.
- Competent in trauma-informed practice, child development, and child and youth care relational practice.
- Demonstrates knowledge in youth transition to adult living (semi-independent or independent).
- Awareness and appreciation for the dynamic of equity issues (diversity, equity and inclusion), especially as it relates to gender, ethnicity, race, and economic status.
- Identification with the strategic mission, vision and values of the organization, including inclusion, collaboration, people-centred, knowledgeable and courageous.

**NICE TO HAVES**:

- Applicants with fluency in another language are encouraged to apply.
- Fluency in American Sign Language.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certificate.

**ON-BOARDING REQUIREMENTS**:

- A Broad Sector police check (within the last 180 days).
- First Aid Certification (CPR/AED Level C).
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
- Completion of a Driver’s Abstract.
- Proof of automobile
