Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced to join our team. As a, you will be responsible for fabricating, calipering, welding, and performing various mechanical tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in machining to contribute to our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and work in a safe, responsible manner.
- Interpret weld symbols (type, weld size, locations etc.), identify & discuss any issues and ensure proper fitting and welding techniques are utilized to complete the desired outcome.
- Identify and discuss distortion control with the Quality rep and foreman (when required).
- Utilize overhead crane to lift when required, understand the limitations and capacity of the crane, all safe work practices shall be reviewed and understood.
- Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Be willing to help the team succeed wherever possible.
- Operate flame-cutting equipment, plasma torch, pneumatic tools, mechanical cutting and coping equipment, power tools, various hand tools and hoisting/lifting equipment to produce the final product.
- Review layout against drawings for accuracy before welding parts to create assemblies.
- Interpret and continually refer to diagrams and tables on drawings to determine material grades, dimensions and other engineering requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Journeyman, and/or Red Seal Welder Certification Preferred
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to layout/fit-up the work
- Comprehension of Structural Codes & Standards
- Mathematical Aptitude
- Use of measuring devices & tools with a strong amplitude for accuracy
- Safety attitude cohesive to the CGI Company’s code of conduct
- Knowledge and understanding of all applicable Personal Protective Equipment for tasks required
- Overhead Crane & Rigging Course (preferred)

**Job Types**: Fixed term contract, Casual

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Licence/Certification:

- Journeyman, and/or Red Seal Welder Certification (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2024-04-15
