Bridge Construction Inspector

We are looking for bridge construction inspectors to support our Edmonton bridge construction delivery team.
If you have an interest in site inspection, fabrication inspection, and contract administration we want to hear from you. Experience with bridge or heavy civil construction projects in any of the following roles is preferred:
- Major and Standard bridge inspection for ATEC or other major transportation departments or municipalities;
- Field engineer, coordinator, or superintendent performing quality inspections for construction contractors;
- Technical experience with engineering materials fabrication and construction including steel fabrication, precast concrete fabrication, cast-in-place concrete, and concrete repair;
- Plane surveying;
- Structural drafting and detailing.
A Little About Us
Working collaboratively, we deliver a large range of infrastructure projects for The City of Edmonton, Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, counties and municipalities, private land developers, and other clients. Our projects include large interchange bridges or river crossing bridges, smaller ‘standard’ bridges and culverts, retaining structures, reservoirs, and other concrete structures.
Below are some projects that are recently completed or currently active:
- Yellowhead Freeway Conversion from St.Albert Trail to 97 St. (2 traffic bridges and 1 pedestrian bridge)
- NW and NE Anthony Henday Drive (over 70 bridge structures combined)
- Mill Creek Ravine Pedestrian Bridges
- Vinca River Bridge
- Hwy 60 Interchange near Acheson
A Little About You
An aptitude for bridge construction inspection as a career is important to us and may include:
- Working independently and taking ownership of the role;
- Being experienced with bridges and other heavy civil construction;
- Confirming that work conforms to standards, specifications, and drawings;
- Systematically assessing and reviewing work to identify issues, anticipating what to focus on and proactively working to prevent issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals in design, construction and trades
- Disciplined approach to completing documentation including daily reporting, quantity measurements and calculations, and change management documentation;
- Ability to work longer hours during the construction season which may include night shifts, weekends, and holidays;
- Having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
**Other important information we want you to know**:
- This role is based in Edmonton and will be supported by a team of bridge construction professionals;
- You must maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License. A company vehicle will be provided;
- Registration with ASET or APEGA is preferred
