**Job Summary**

The Administrative/Payroll Assistant provides administrative support to the main office staff and coordinators.

**Reporting Relationships and Roles**

The Administrative/ Payroll Assistant internally communicates with all areas within the organization. The Administrative/ Payroll Assistant reports to the Executive Director.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities include**:

- Collect weekly time-sheets for hourly employees for three regions
- Review time-sheets for accuracy of calculations

Review travel sheets(mileage)
- Journal entry of accounts payable
- Perform administrative functions such as answering phone calls, data entry
- Answer any inquiries in regards to payroll, mileage
- Use Excel to create spreadsheets for control and proper record keeping for time-sheets, rate adjustments, calculation of holiday pay and year to date monitoring

- Dartmouth, NS (Main Office)

**Working conditions and physical environment**
- Primarily indoors, the Administrative/ Payroll Assistant will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment in a busy, open area office
- Work is often completed with the use of office equipment and computers
- Frequent interruptions and meeting with others on a regular basis
- Occasional lifting of supplies and/or materials
- Travel to other offices may be required

**Required qualifications for the position include**:

- Post-secondary education
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 (formerly Simply Accounting)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and follow through with projects
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining an extremely high degree of accuracy
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced, team-driven and diverse environment

**Desired skills for the position include**:

- Ability to work with a wide variety of people

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5-6 months
Part-time hours: 32 per week

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
