**META** is seeking a **Payroll Specialist **to join our team based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for processing a full range of payroll duties for our business units in Canada, US, UK, Greece and France.

**What You’ll Do**:
You will be responsible for processing payroll from end to end. Managing the input, validating the output, completing various payroll reporting requirements post commit, as well as completing remittances, finance reporting and periodic government or third party filings worldwide. You will maintain our records and filing system in accordance with our internal controls as well as SOX compliance. You'll also be a resource for employees to lean on when they have questions or concerns and educate them when they don’t understand. Strong attention to detail, ability to critically think through errors and find solutions. A high degree of efficiency, accuracy and long periods of sitting is required.

**Some of the typical responsibilities will include**:

- Process Semi-Monthly, Monthly and Quarterly payrolls in North America and Europe; setting up new hires, benefit enrollments, employee change requests, promotions, termination, verify time and expense information in preparation for payroll processing. Collaborate with managers and HR as needed to complete verification prior to payroll commit.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to supervisor. Meeting tight deadlines, multitasking and ability to switch gears while still completing the tasks.
- Provide education and guidance to managers and senior management around payroll compliance and requirements. Respond to internal and external inquiries.
- Responsible for issuing ROEs to Service Canada, Year End tax forms and filings in all jurisdictions, benefit administration and workers compensation reporting.
- Payroll finance reporting including but not limited to; payroll budget, payroll register reconciliation, monthly and quarterly balancing.
- Maintain payroll certification (if applicable) or work towards obtaining payroll certification in Canada or US.

**Minimum qualifications**:

- 3+ years’ previous payroll experience, with end-to-end processing, managing multiple payrolls. A proven track record of mínimal errors, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving. Intermediate Excel user.
- Experience in data collection, entry, reporting and analytics with great attention to detail while maintaining a high level of confidentiality

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary education in related field
- Canadian PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification and/or American Payroll Association certification an asset.
- 5+ years’ experience in multi entity, multinational payroll processing
- Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce highly preferred
