**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Child and Youth Services Supervisor, the Child and Youth Worker is responsible for the overall co-planning and delivery of the Children’s Summer Camp's daily activities. The daily implementation of programming and supervision of children, ages 6 - 12, will also include regular field trips outside of Warden Woods Community Centre.
- Develop, implement, and participate in all camp programs, events and activities
- Supervise children on-site, off-site, at meals time, and during daily activities
- Maintain attendance records of the participants
- Provide high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
- Supervise program participants and ensure their safety, development, skill achievement, and general well-being.
- Ensure that the program spaces, equipment, and supplies, and are clean and safe
- Encourage each camper to engage at their full potential
- Complete weekly program plans & newsletters
- Attend weekly meetings and staff trainings
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
To be eligible, students must:

- Be between 18 and 30 years of age on or before June 24th, 2024
- Minimum 1year experience as a camp counsellor or previous work experience with children aged 6 - 12 years old
- Currently enrolled or completed Early Childhood Education, Recreation and Leisure Services, Child and Youth Work would be considered an asset
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent programming skills and ability to efficiently carry out program plans
- Ability to establish rapport with children, parents, volunteers, and co-workers
- Excellent communication skills
- oral and written
- Current First-Aid and CPR training required (can be obtained after hire)
- Ability to work in a diverse environment within an inclusive, client-centered framework
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

**Compensation and Hours of Work**:

- Rotating day shifts: Shift 1 - Open: 8:30 am-4:30 pm | Shift 2 - Close: 9:00 am
- 5:00 pm
- Start date: June 24th, 2024/ End date: August 14th, 2024
