**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Use effective interpersonal communications skills with, students, faculty, management, colleagues from other colleges and universities, community members and other professionals in internal and external education and practice settings
- Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based on the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
- Work effectively in a team -based work environment including inter-professional teams
- Conduct scholarly applied research
- Write research and grant proposals
- Supervise the work of students and external industry partners in research projects
- Create and engage students to maintain a positive teaching and learning environment
- Build classes for online learning
- Use a variety of appropriate and evidence-based teaching/learning strategies
- Incorporate academic technology effectively to enhance and support student learning
- Evaluate student achievements of learning outcomes using a variety of academic assessment strategies and approaches and provide regular feedback
- Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
- Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
- Provide academic support to learners as required
- Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery techniques
- Participate in reflective practice for continuing learning and development
- Attends meetings, maintain records of student grades/assessments and participates in meeting and activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Bachelor degree in Child and Youth Care. Equivalent work and lived experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive and varied experience in the field of child and youth care involving direct client care and supervision of clients
- Minimum of two years teaching and or training experience in traditional and non-traditional settings.
- Demonstrated experience in curricula development and outcome assessments
- Skills and experience including but not limited to evidence-informed practice in child and youth mental health, counselling and group work, developmental psychology, advocacy, trauma, clinical recording and program evaluation
- Demonstrated understanding of current pedagogical approaches in higher education (i.e. constructivist, student-centered collaborative and problem based learning)
- Evidence of scholarly work including publications, conference presentations and research projects
- Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including inter-professional collaboration and education
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community
- Full professional membership with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care
