**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Clinical Youth Outreach Worker (YOW) is a full-time permanent position that provide a range of outreach, and clinical prevention and early intervention services to youth, families, and youth groups to enhance and maintain a youth’s development within his or her respective community.

**_ Salary range:_** _$67,180 to $77,898 per annum_

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Provide a range of clinical mental health and other services that are responsive to a youth’s individual need that enhance and maintain their development within the community
- Engage in professional development activities and record accurate client information that is reflective of organizational policies, accreditation and ministry standards, while illustrating the goals, targets and deliverables of identified services.
- Develop, plan, and implement workshops, programs, and skill development groups internally and within the community
- Develop and nurture strong community linkages (stakeholder relationships) for the purpose of engagement and response to crisis as required
- Respond and participate in organizational wide initiatives.

**THE “MUST HAVES”**

The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or equivalent.
- Registration/membership in a registered professional association for practitioners in clinical therapy/ psychotherapy such as CRPO or OCSWSSW
- 1 year of directly related experience
- Working knowledge of Stages of Change model.
- Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and other clinical interventions.
- Knowledge of youth engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of family engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively and negotiate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of service providers internally and externally.
- Demonstrated understanding of the intersection of mental health, high risk youth and the impact of community-based violence and other trauma incidents on youth development.
- Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
- An understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health.
- Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts.

**THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’**
- Functional computer and client information system knowledge.
- Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
