The role sits on the Americas Procurement team reporting to the Senior Director, Category Management Americas. Working with the Procurement Category Teams sitting in North America ensuring strong and collaborative relationships are built and maintained to implement the category strategies alongside business partners. The role is passionate about supporting categories across the Commercial portfolio such as Consulting, Fleet, Human Resources, Advertising, Medical Communications, Public Relations/Corporate Affairs and Meetings & Events as examples.
The Procurement Specialist will work with relevant Procurement peers such as Category Managers and Global Procurement Services and business partners to manage spend categories through deep analytics, development of long-term strategic plans and support as needed. They will work closely with partners and suppliers to ensure that Category Strategies are aligned to current and future Business needs and that the supply base can support the requirements.
**What you will do**:
- Manage and/or implement key projects aligned to overall procurement strategy in conjunction with Category Leads
- Ensure the underpinning process improvement and procurement activities deliver the encouraged business value in accordance with the strategic plans
- Support the regional or Global Leads in the development of long-term strategic plans for agreed scope of spend area to ensure that category strategies are highly aligned to current and future business need and that the supply base is capable of supporting these strategies
- Advise on contracts and agreements for the supply of products and services with new and existing suppliers
- Drive insights and decisions through the development of reporting and analytics relative to the category teams
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 1+ years of applicable experience
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Communication proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and BI
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Contract management/negotiation
- Supplier Relationship Management experience
- Project management experience
- Understanding of Marketing or Pharmaceutical Industry and other commercial areas
