**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Performance and Analytics, the Manager, Operational Performance and Analytics is responsible for managing the implementation of the performance improvement and analytics strategy for Nova Scotia Health. The Manager will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide day-to-day planning, and analytical expertise and support across the organization to support its strategic mission, vision and goals.

The Manager will be directly overseeing analytics teams including clinical, applied and operational analytics, which provide organizational-wide, health service planning, performance improvement, decision support, workforce analytics, operational analytics, system management planning through performance measurement, improvement expertise, advanced analytics and reporting. These functions are spread across several teams, with provincial resources and staff located throughout the zones.

This position contributes to the provision of strategic and operational leadership to performance improvement and analytics functions which enable and support the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality, provincially integrated health programs and services that are based on provincial standards of care, efficient, sustainable, safe and responsive to the needs of Nova Scotians. The position contributes to the provision of analytics and performance improvement to support strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks and the mission, vision and values of the organization. The position supports a provincial analytics and improvement strategy and assists with the design and development of numerous improvement/analytical projects and products to support the high-quality, effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of services and programs. The position will foster and lead analytics initiatives that are leveraged across the breadth of the healthcare system and direct the design and implementation of cutting-edge analytics to achieve targeted outcomes.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience related to the management and oversight of the performance and analytical activities of a large, complex organization
- Master's Degree or equivalent mix of education and experience in health and/or data related discipline, Business Administration, Informatics, Industrial Engineering or another relevant field a requirement
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytics techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge of performance and process improvement techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care delivery systems in various hospital and community settings
- Experience at a senior leadership level involved in planning and implementing a variety of large scale transformational projects and initiatives, provided across several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders
- Experience engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of integrated organizations and developing programs and standards to support the vision, goals and objectives of a healthcare organization
- Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience utilizing technology to create efficiencies and streamline tracking, retrieval and distribution of information
- Strong knowledge of health care issues
- Superior analytical capability to solve complex problems and make timely decisions
- Demonstrated ability to translate performance and analytical details into operational opportunities
