**Description**:
Corteva Agriscience is seeking hard working, motivated, and independent co-op students for the position of **Research Assistant Doubled Haploid located in Caledon, Ontario.**

**Duties and responsibilities for this position will be as follows**:

- Assist with microspore culture to create double haploid canola breeding lines.
- Regenerate doubled haploid plants from microspore-derived embryos including embryo in vitro culture, shoot sub-culture and plant transfer to soil.
- Assist researchers with routine laboratory duties and disposal of transgenic waste material.
- Assist researchers in collecting a large amount of samples from DH Shoots.
- Assist with research to improve doubled haploid procedure.
- Assist researchers with routine laboratory duties
- Maintain proper records for lab processes, instrument performance and communicating effectively with team members and supervisor.
- This position will be involved primarily in canola doubled haploid production, research and routine activities
- Employment period is for three months or more based on requirement.

**Qualifications**:
We are a remote location and there is no public transportation available to the location. Employee must have own transportation. We also do not provide housing or aid in finding suitable housing for the employee.
