The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Purchasing Department, working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across the company to create and implement strategic source plans and identify new initiatives. You will provide purchasing leadership, support and expertise in the areas of supplier development, selection, negotiations and contract development for company sourcing initiatives.

**_Responsibilities:_**
- Manage daily operations of the Purchasing departments, supervising staff, and allocating tasks
- Manage, coach, and develop department staff to assure clear understanding of corporate goals, company policies, procedures, processes, and individual accountabilities
- Manage and maintain key responsibility for the overall product inventory levels including current on-hand, deadstock and surplus inventory
- Direct line of purchasing responsibilities including purchasing, price negotiating, and vendor credit terms and processing for the specified line of products and vendors assigned.
- Act as the main point of contact for purchasing and the Company to resolve issues, improve process/procedure and ensure that communications are kept at their highest
- Manage the overall vendor buying agreement process and the measurement and implementation of such across all vendors. Working in conjunction with buyers to ensure all vendors are meeting the expectations set and agreed upon
- Negotiate with vendors for bids and client enquiries, and collaborate with supply chain to ensure efficiency and cost-control
- Ensure all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Ensure that data and maintenance of such is kept at a high level of system integrity so the identified ERP requirements are met and utilized according to documented procedures
- Key person to develop, manage and maintain purchasing manual
- Identify and lead initiatives internally and externally to create new strategic supply chain advantages that improves department performance, minimize inventory costs, improve cycle times, and control inventory

**_Qualifications:_**
- Post-secondary degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management or similar discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in merchandising, procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a distribution environment
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to think strategically and implement solutions at the management level
- Proven leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment, providing the necessary skills to manage effectively in a rapidly changing environment with a focus on customer service
- Superior negotiating skills; strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to multi-task and change direction quickly and often
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and/or distribution management software
- E-commerce integration experience is highly preferred
- APICS certification preferred

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
