The Policy Cordinator/Manager, Staff Training & Development is assigned to the policy portfolio, accountable for the development of policy pursuant to the Division’s strategic plan, government policies and directions, which correspond to the expressed needs of the Correctional Services Division. The Policy Cordinator/Manager, Staff Training & Development is also required to maintain collaborative relationships between Correctional Services Division, other law enforcement agencies and shared client authorities throughout the province to ensure quality service delivery and clarity on roles and responsibilities. s.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary degree in a relevant specialized discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Strong initiative and able to work independently
- Experience managing complex projects with the ability to develop/draft proposals.
- Experience drafting issue papers, treasury board submissions and ministerial correspondence.
- Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills

**Desired**:

- Experience in public sector program development, program evaluation or research
- Knowledge of principles of statutory interpretation
