**Role Summary**

**Major Areas of Responsibility**
- Design and implement complex statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets.
- Identify opportunities to use data to drive business decisions by leveraging accurate and effective models.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders (technical & non-technical), including senior management, to provide updates on projects and ensure that goals are achieved.
- Work closely with other teams such as data engineering and analytics to understand their data needs and support their work.
- Manage project timelines ensuring that projects are delivered on time and making sure that the work produced by your team is of high quality and reliable (e.g. Code reviews).
- Help R&D initiatives and find new approaches to improve work efforts.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition teams to interview and select new staff based on competencies and culture fit.
- Assist direct reports with their professional development plans, setting one-on-one meetings, performance goals, and empowering them to take ownership in the attainment of goals.
- Collaborate with sales teams to review and approve approaches, proposal content and project plans as it relates to your practice.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- 5+ years of experience as Data Scientist working with multiple AI/ML methods (e.g. supervised/unsupervised, regression/classification, NLP, etc.) and solving complex real-world problems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in programming languages and frameworks like Python, SQL, Spark, Hadoop.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Familiarity with modern Data Science platforms, such as H20.ai, DataRobot, Databricks, Snowflake.
- Familiarity with MLOps best practices and CI/CD tools.
- Master's degree in AI/ML, computational mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related field.
- Strong critical thinking capabilities. Approach all work with a consultative mindset.

**Nice to Have**
- 1+ yrs. experience in leadership roles or managing teams.
- Specialized training or certification in one or more of the technologies listed is an asset.
- Specialized training in management is an asset.
