**Payroll Specialist**
We are looking for a motivated, organized and reliable payroll professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full payroll cycle for our US and Canadian employees. Your responsibilities will include processing and reviewing payroll data and documents, as well as, preparing various reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders

**Qualifications**:
- Education level - Associates Degree in Business Administration preferred
- Experience - 5+ years of Payroll experience within a medium to large-sized company, experience in a union environment a plus
- Specific skills - Experience processing payroll for multiple entities in US and Canada. Experience using ADP WFN and Ceridian is preferable. Advanced skills in Excel, and Word. Strong oral and written communication skills are required
- Personal characteristics - Ability to analyze, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines. Be detailed, organized, and self-driven. Problem solver and team player. Open for change and improvements. Committed to principles of confidentiality and customer service focused
- Certification - CPP or PCP is an asset
**Experience**:
- Prepare, input and review payroll data for the full cycle payrolls (new hires, terminations, employee changes)
- Process payroll for 400+ employees, hourly and salaried, across US and Canada.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee changes
- Review timesheets and attendance records and correct inaccuracies
- Prepare regulatory reporting as required by government bodies (CRA, IRS)
- Prepare manual checks and calculations as required
- Gather and maintain employee files (paper and electronic)
- Yearend reconciliations including, T4 processing, W2 Processing, ACA Reporting Respond to payroll and benefit related inquiries in a timely manner
- Manage reporting, reconciliation and auditing of employee wages, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, garnishments and other payments
- Actively participate in preparation and review of all aspects of monthly, quarterly and year-end activities and tax filings in US and Canada.
- Participate in external and internal audits as required
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and payroll and benefits policies and programs
- Provide specialized and ad-hoc projects/reporting requirements to support the business
- Assist in designing, documenting and implementing procedures to streamline payroll processes.
**Working Conditions**:
