**Primary Duties**

The Manager of IT & IS works closely with the Director of Corporate Services to develop, communicate, and execute a corporate IT strategy that aligns with the overall corporate strategy and the attainment of associated corporate goals. The incumbent plays an important role in liaising with other members of leadership to ensure that IT plans and priorities properly support the functional departments in their requirements to meet organizational improvement targets.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with all levels of leadership and will ensure to align IT priorities with the corporate vision, mission and values.

3. Plans assure responsiveness of long-range plans to corporate objectives.

4. Liaison with the City of Kingston IT department and coordination and support for the IT service delivery provided by the City of Kingston.

6. Accountable for the planning, management, and delivery of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems implementation projects that are part of the overall IT strategy.

7. Provides leadership to the IT Team in the development of a comprehensive work program including, motivating, and developing all staff within the IT team.

8. Directs the team’s day to day activities, providing guidance and mentorship to IT team members.

9. Leads and coordinates the development of IT system infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibility including evaluation of new technologies.

10. Champions an innovative cyber security program to ensure the protection utility customers, employees, and assets.

11. Represents the IT department within the organization and ensures the IT Team is aware of corporate direction and expectations.

12. Provides direction and oversight, ensuring proper IT operational and capital programs are carried out in a cost-efficient and effective manner.

13. Assists in the development of IT departmental operating and capital budgets, and business planning and IT assets.

14. Develops policies and procedures related to network, hardware and software, and cyber security and leads user training initiatives.

15. Designs and plans system upgrades, local and wide area networks upgrades, and maintenance upgrades of servers.

16. Participates in IT related industry groups and initiatives such as USF and OEB working groups. Stay abreast to trends and opportunities within the Ontario utility industry.

17. Take the lead on corporate IT programs and initiatives, including those under the cybersecurity program and large enterprise software implementations.

18. Negotiate software, hardware, and service agreements for IT services on behalf of the organization and departments as needed.

19. Adjust and respond to regulatory changes that affect internal policy and procedure within the organization.

- Advanced academic and practical knowledge of network routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Current knowledge and hands-on experience of Microsoft infrastructure, including: Windows Server, Office 365 Active Directory
- Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
- Current knowledge and hands-on experience with set-up, configuration, and management of virtual server technologies
- Knowledge of DevOps methodology
- Cyber Security standards (NIST) and system hardening techniques
- ITIL working knowledge
- Budget and project management
