The Financial Analyst is responsible for executing a diverse range of functions, including the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial and regulatory reports. This role entails conducting in-depth financial analysis, compiling a variety of periodic reports, and providing accurate, timely information to support both regulatory compliance and internal decision-making processes.

**What you’ll be doing**

In this position you will:

- Prepare monthly, annual, and periodic financial and regulatory reports in compliance with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) requirements, including the development and submission of supporting schedules and documentation.
- Utilize financial reporting systems such as C-View and Lodestar to generate comprehensive reports. Ensure data accuracy by reconciling outputs with relevant General Ledger (GL) accounts.
- Prepare and conduct detailed analysis of a wide range of monthly risk and performance reports, including accompanying notes and commentary, for review by senior management.
- Produce and analyze daily reports on liquidity, foreign exchange balances, and other critical metrics to assist in the management of financial operations.
- Reconcile registered product records with Central 1 to ensure the accuracy of reported data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and review the credit union’s current accounts on a daily basis. Analyze significant fluctuations and provide explanations for any material changes.
- Assist the CFO in organizing and prioritizing the workflow within the Finance team, ensuring efficient execution of tasks and alignment with departmental goals.
- Prepare additional financial reports and analyses as requested by management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and prepare documentation for interim and year-end audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This position may take over additional tasks as experience grows and time permits.

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking for a self-motivated and self-disciplined finance professional, who is able to work independently with minimum supervision, and has the following:

- At minimum, three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or a related field; professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or working towards strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel (Macros, VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.) with working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

**Working Conditions/Physical Effort**:

- Professional, team-oriented, office environment.
- Standard corporate business hours based on 37.5-hour work week; ability to work extended hours from time to time.
- The physical demands are those of an office environment. These include, but are not limited to sitting, considerable use of computer and phone, occasional moving of items up to 25 pounds in weight.
