_**Calling all Zombies, Side-Show Freaks, Metal Heads, Dragula Divas & acts that leave you saying "WTF was that?"**_
- In association with the Surrey Food Bank, Cougar Creek's House of Horrors is back for 2023 and we are looking forward to scaring the pants off thousands of foolish victims again this year. Instead of a last meal, we're serving our queue-line-captives a vile variety show as they march toward their fate. We are open to literally ANY kind of act you can dig up as long as it meets the following criteria:_
- Between 3 and half to 5 minutes in length (longer time slots are open to discussion)_
- Be of or similar to the following styles & genres: Classic Horror, Heavy/Death Metal, Evil dead, PG13 to R, Dragula/Burlesque, Side-Show Attraction/Freaks_
- This is NOT a Disney style event_
- Our event is targeted to those 14yrs of age and older_
- All acts must have a horror; scary; dark; demented; twisted; occult; or Halloween element to them_
- This could mean taking an existing act or routine you have and simply changing the costume/make-up or music to meet the criteria_
- No liquids or anything that couldn't be quickly swept up with a push broom, left behind on stage after your act_
- All performers must be 18 yrs of age or older_
- All performers will be required to attend safety orientation and 1 of 2 unpaid rehearsal nights_
- Act must have mínimal to no need for additional electrical power_
- We will provide either a handheld or wireless mic along with basic lighting & sound_
- **Important to note that although the stage is very long it is quite shallow at only 4' in depth and raised. The stage is located inside a domed, temporary structure and although it is protected from the elements it is not heated._
- **Show Details**:_
- A _**45min horror/Halloween themed variety show set to run 3 times nightly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays**_ _in October and possibly Tuesday October 31, Halloween night. _**That's a total of 12 (possibly 13) show nights**_. The shows will be structured and scheduled based on the availability provided by performers, but an availability of at least 50% is strongly preferred. The show and acts will be framed and intro'd by a main host character (position already filled). The audience is made up of horror and Halloween fans who are queued up to enter the main house attractions. We would like to enhance their experience and ticket value with an included show that the audience gets for free and showcases local talent in ways they've never seen before. This is naturally a great opportunity for performers who are horror/Halloween fans but also for those who are looking to build their reels and resumes or seasoned pros who have been looking for stage to do something in a genre they don't normally get to play in._
- All performers will be required to:_
- Have their own reliable means of transportation to/from the event, this includes all scheduled show nights, safety orientation and rehearsal_
- Have their own costume(s)_
- This includes cleaning and laundry_
- Have and do their own make-up_
- Performers are strongly encouraged to do their makeup at home prior to arriving_
- The event takes place on something similar to festival grounds with no fixed plumbing, therefor washroom facilities and services are limited_
- The makeup artists onsite are for the scare actors only and have no extra time to assist_
- Have and provide any and all props needed for the act_
- Provide any required audio or media on a compatible storage device that must remain at the event till October 31_

- **Gig Rate**_
- $75 to $100 per night, per performer (Eg. An act with 3 performers would pay between $225 to $300 per night; A solo act who performs all 12 shows would make between $900 to $1200 for the month). All performers will also receive complimentary event tickets to either attend on non-show nights or give to family/friends. Free parking is provided onsite as well._
