The Ottawa Humane Society works tirelessly to support the health and wellbeing of animals in Ottawa, and to build a compassionate community for all. We are looking for a passionate individual with experience in fundraising, specifically major gifts, foundations and special initiatives.

We offer a competitive salary between $58,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience. As well, we offer generous sick leave, vacation, life insurance, long term disability, employer paid extended health and dental benefits and a registered pension plan. It is a full time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. There will be an occasional requirement for evening and weekend hours.

**What would you do?**
- Work alongside the Senior Manager: Donor Relations, to achieve fundraising goals of the O HS
- Develop and maintain relationships with OHS clients, donors and prospective donors
- Coordinate the development, implementation and tracking of OHS stewardship, mid-level, major gifts and foundation plans
- Develop written and other materials to support various individual and foundation initiatives
- Develop, manage and ensure adherence to program budgets
- Supervise and coordinate volunteers and contractors
- Prepare and deliver written and verbal presentations including media interviews
- Provide advice and assistance to other managers, the President and CEO, OHS board and committees
- Represent OHS in a professional manner
- Provide training and orientation to new staff, volunteers, students and work placements as required

**What are we looking for?**
- Post-secondary school degree, diploma or certificate in a related field - fundraising preferred
- CFRE designation and CAGP membership are assets
- Minimum of three years’ experience in development including major gifts and/or legacy giving
- Minimum of one year management experience
- Experienced with CRM database, preferably Raiser’s Edge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience in donor and proposal research
- Advanced verbal and written skills in English are required

**Additional requirements**
- The Manager may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining a valid driver’s license and access to an automobile
