**SALARY**: $68,556 - $96,644 per annum

**POSITION LOCATION**: Manitou a bi Bii daziigae (Winnipeg, MB)



**DUTIES**
Reporting to the Manager, Assessment Centre, the Assessment Specialist (ASP) leads Assessment Services operations and development activity. The ASP is part of the College's strategic response to increasing student success across all college programs. The ASP works to increase student academic readiness and creates entrance systems that assist students in

evaluating their academic skills in order to make informed program selections.

- The ASP leads cross-college collaborative teams to identify solutions for academic readiness needs; leads Assessment Services staff, contractors and vendors in the development, testing and implementation of college readiness assessment systems; oversees the facilitation, record keeping and communication activities related to day-to-day RRC Polytech admissions and diagnostic testing; and coordinates effective communications regarding assessment practices with the broader RRC Polytech community and external stakeholder groups.

- The ASP ensures all assessment systems are aligned with best practices in assessment creation, facilitation, and interpretation, and creates programming that aligns with adult learning theory and research related to post-secondary success and retention.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in Education; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in curriculum or assessment development
- Experience with the development, implementation, and evaluation of assessments for post-secondary or industry
- Experience in instruction or provision of Student Affairs support for post-secondary or industry
- Experience creating, testing and evaluating assessment tools in a variety of forms, including online, Learning
- Management System-based and traditional paper-based materials
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with the ability to work with the multiple needs of divergent groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and assessment theory
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a group setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**
- Familiarity with the programs and services offered by RRC Polytech
- Experience in the use of Recruit and Colleague
- Experience leading teams and/or projects

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work overtime
- This position may be required to travel
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
