Manufacturing Group Leader

**Job Summary**
As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities within a designated group. You will provide guidance, support, and direction to group members to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects while prioritizing and maximizing department efficiencies to minimize downtime.
**Duties**
- A proactive leader in safety prevention and addressing safety concerns as well as well as being responsible to ensure that employees comply with the Ontario Health and Safety Act and company safety policy such as but not limited to ensuring proper PPE is worn and proper lock out/tag out is performed when necessary. Complete safety incident investigations and documentation completed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate heightened importance to Quality and quality systems such as right the first time, GMPs and prevention of deviations.
- Direct shift pass-off with the outgoing/incoming shift coordinator on current shift manufacturing and cleaning processes and expectations for the oncoming shift. Review communication white board especially off shift and communicate the new items.
- Working with department leadership, determine workload or shift plan for each crew member and assign tasks as required.
- Communicate the required or in-process cleaning, the batches that are in process to the incoming team as well as what the needs are in order to be ready for said processes.
- Be the SME for on-the-job challenges.
- Use Lean and 5S principles to help the department become more efficient.
- Share ideas and demonstrate the desire to improve processes within the department to remain or become more efficient.
- Coordinate and update the Liquid Dose packaging Group Leader on Bulk availability or pipeline cleaning priorities based on planned production.
- Track the “at the moment” cleaning and batch making against the routings and making sure that production board is being completed.
- Work closely with planning and maintain communication on status Vs. scheduled plan on bulk manufacturing.
- Verify manufacturing orders as needed.
- Review completed manufacturing orders and/or cleaning MCR’s.
- Review and reconcile monthly alcohol usage.
- Perform run out dates of Glycerin and Propylene Glycol.
- In consultation with Leadership, call for the necessary replacements to cover absenteeism. Review absence requests.
- Review and update Manufacturing whiteboard as needed.
- Looks at all legacy processes for cleaning and finds ways to be more efficient without compromising quality.
- Become a Dispensing control checker if required.
- Review draft Process Validation Manufacturing Orders for accuracy and practicality.
- A training Leader who will monitor the progress of new team additions. Follow your teams training SOP and on the job training performance and progress of new team members.
- Main point of contact to support Tech Services during processing validations.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Secondary School Diploma
- Basic math and the use of measuring tools.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while making sound decisions.
- Previous leadership experience considered an asset.
- Shift work is required.
Pay: From $34.62 per hour
Expected hours: 36 - 48 per week
