Machinery Operator

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate heavy machinery for production to established production rates and quality requirements
- Operate manual machines as required
- Use measuring instruments to maintain required quality control tolerances
- Ability to hold required tolerances through machine offsets, tooling replacement including inserts
- Complete other production related tasks as directed by supervisor
- Follow standard work practices and work instructions
- Maintain good housekeeping, follow lean Manufacturing Process and 5S requirements
- Report to the supervisor any damages or malfunction of the equipment and tools
- Wear appropriate safety equipment
- Adhere to company safe work policies and practices
- Ability to work shift work
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Work in a unionized facility
- **QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT**:
- Minimum High School Degree or equivalent
- 2-4 years' experience working with large presses, shears, welders or heavy machinery
- Ability to use various types of measuring equipment
- Ability to use various types of hand and power tools
- Crane and Lift Truck training an asset
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles an asset
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous work experience in an ISO certified company preferred
