Based in Vancouver, BC, the Analyst, Development, Canadian Real Estate will report to the Director, Development and will work in a pooled environment with a direct focus on Development. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work with various members of QuadReal’s Development, Portfolio Management, Investment, and Asset Management teams acting under the domestic BCI QuadReal Realty fund.

Day-to-day, the Analyst will focus on supporting development underwriting efforts for the portfolio’s existing development pipeline. Responsibilities of the role include contributing to financial and market analysis, building cashflow underwriting models, monitoring and reporting progress of existing development projects, and preparing presentation materials to support senior management in its assessment and decision-making processes surrounding development opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze and assess existing land holdings and development projects including highest and best use and site/project feasibility reviews.
- Create and maintain detailed and robust financial models for development projects, including multi-family residential (rental and condominium), industrial, retail and office property types.
- Conduct market due diligence across property types to support the underwriting of new and existing development projects.
- Investigate and analyze municipal planning and zoning policy to support development conceptualization, master planning, and design development.
- Complete ongoing analysis on key components of the development, identifying key issues impacting profitability.
- Keep track of comparable and competing development activity across property types.
- Prepare investment memorandums supporting the development process.
- Prepare regular progress reports on existing development projects.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- 3 to 5 years of experience with a real estate company (asset manager or developer), real estate brokerage or advisory firm, appraisal firm, or real estate lender is desirable. A strong interest in developing your career within real estate is essential.
- University or college degree in Finance or Real Estate; additional education such as a CFA or AACI designation is an asset.
- Strong proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Argus Enterprise programs.
- Strong in financial and quantitative analysis; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality.
- A strong work ethic, ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, and competing priorities and adapt to innovative ideas and constant changes.
- Ability to take the initiative and own your responsibilities to produce high-quality work product with mínimal supervision
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid and dynamic work environment dedicated to excellence; flexible and adaptive to new ideas and constant changes
- Ability to focus on the detail to produce accurate and reliable work product while also grasping the bigger picture; possess intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn and develop.
- Ability to develop and sustain collaborative and effective working relationships with all personalities.
