Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.

The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH LEAD**

The Occupational Health Lead leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the health and disability management programs at Côté Gold. The Occupational Health Lead works collaboratively with all departments to maximize wellness and minimize disability risk to our employees.

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Development, implementation and continuous improvement of wellness and disability management programs.
- Assist with the development and review of wellness and disability management policies and procedures in accordance with site, company and government regulation and legislation.
- Develop and support the implementation of wellness and disability tools and programs (physical and psychological job assessments, injury management, drug and alcohol testing, medical screening, disability claim management, wellness activities etc.)
- Build understanding of the wellness and disability management programs through training, audits and directly engaging with employees.
- Monitor employee health and take a proactive approach to injury and illness prevention.
- Monitor employee recovery and assist and coach leaders and employees.
- Facilitate the return to work and return to wellness of injured or ill employees through a coordinated effort taking into account the needs of the individuals, the work environment, and legal obligations.
- Develop and promote the adoption of new wellness programs and practices.
- Maintain and report wellness and disability management data.
- Administer, monitor and manage short term disability, long term disability and WSIB claims.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all policies and procedures take wellness and disability management into account.

Operational excellence.
- Seek opportunities to improve wellness and disability management processes and procedures.
- Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.
- Be diligent in safety as a principle and deeply held belief, not just a regulation, standard or certification requiring compliance.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills as an Occupational Health Lead.
- Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).

Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
- Coaches and provides direction to the various stakeholders to ensure that the business objectives are met.
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure wellness and disability management data are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a nursing, occupational therapy, social work or other related field is required.
- Certificate of registration as Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is required.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wellness and disability management.
- Experience in an industrial or mining related field is considered an asset.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal and mediation skills.
- Superior assessment and problem solving skills.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Knowledge of psychological workplace risk factors.
- Knowledge of legislation related to disability management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks under tight deadlines.
