The Clinical Programs and Quality Initiatives (CPQI) portfolio identifies evidence-based best practices and works with stakeholders to implement them within the cancer system to improve quality, value and the patient experience. This involves significant change management at many levels. The teams designing and implementing changes need to understand the practice environment, including culture, policy, regulatory, technology and clinical issues.

Reporting to the Director of System Improvement and Integration in the CPQI portfolio, the Group Manager, System Improvement and Integration Initiatives is an exciting new opportunity to play a leadership role in a suite of system level cross-organizational projects intended to fulfill strategic objectives of the Ontario Cancer Plan and make a difference in the quality of care for cancer patients in Ontario. You will work directly with highly regarded clinical experts and a wide variety of partners within CCO and across the province. You will work with clinicians, staff and mangers across CPQI as well as colleagues in other clinical portfolios as well as corporate services (e.g,, legal and privacy, finance, technology services, planning and regional programs) You will champion leading practices in project management, quality improvement (QI), change management as well as models of care design and implementation science. You will mentor, steer and motivate project teams comprised of individuals from multiple programs, ensuring initiatives are executed successfully on time and on budget, and have a robust evaluation component.

Here is what you will be doing:
- Lead the design and implementation of standardized tools and processes to plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate system level quality improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate approaches- Serve as a champion and mentor in the fields of project management and health care QI, change management and models of care design staying abreast of leading practices and establishing structures and resources and tools to ensure they are embedded in our work- Build strategic internal and external partnerships to promote successful system change- Directly support the initiation phase of projects, partnering with clinical and business leads to ensure that clear goals, scope, risks and governance structure are being defined- Ensure each initiative has a robust stakeholder engagement plan, evaluation plan, effective governance and achievable project plan- Ensure initiatives are appropriately resourced, scheduled, and that project and related documents and deliverables are completed to specification- Monitor project status, provide business guidance, identify deviations from work plan and budget, implement corrective action and escalate risks/issues as necessary- Identify and manage complex inter-dependencies between projects and with key partners, and ensure alignment of stakeholder engagement plans across the suite of initiatives- Lead, mentor and manage project teams which include both direct and indirect reports- Performs cross-functional and/or other duties, as assigned

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- A Master’s degree in health administration, business administration or other relevant field is preferred, and at least seven years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience- Project management experience, preferably in health care quality improvement at the system level- Experience managing people and budgets; proven ability to lead staff in a project environment- Proven ability to successfully execute on multiple concurrent, large-scale, complex, projects- Certification in project management and quality improvement is an asset- Subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: Health care quality improvement, change management, knowledge translation a
