Salon Manager Job Description**Position Title: Salon Manager**

**Location**: LIFE&COLOUR salon
**Reports to**: Producer/Owner
**Salary**: $52,500 per year + Additional Benefits Package

**Introduction**

The Salon Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the salon to ensure a seamless customer experience, maintain high team morale, and drive overall profitability. This role involves managing staff, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring that the salon remains a highly functional, organized, and welcoming environment for clients and employees alike.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Customer Service**
- Act as the primary host and brand ambassador for the salon.
- Ensure every client has an exceptional experience from arrival to checkout.
- Manage customer scheduling, invoicing, payments, and follow-up communications.
- Address client complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Promote and sell salon services and retail products.

**2. Facility Operations**
- Ensure efficient use of salon software (Phorest) and other operational tools.
- Train new stylists and front desk staff on salon procedures and systems.
- Oversee cash-out procedures, petty cash management, and bank deposits.
- Maintain retail displays and manage salon supply inventory.
- Organize cleaning schedules and implement waste reduction programs.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.

**3. Administrative Duties**
- Manage stylist schedules, including vacation and sick day tracking.
- Maintain salon calendars and coordinate meetings and events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff and client issues.
- Regularly update salon manuals and ensure adherence to policies.
- Coordinate educational opportunities and training sessions for staff.

**4. IT and Technical Support**
- Ensure salon software, computer systems, and payment devices are maintained and operational.
- Troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
- Keep up with and learn all features in Phorest and other platforms.

**5. Financial Management**
- Manage purchasing and receiving of salon supplies.
- Track and control inventory turnover to minimize dead stock.
- Follow and adhere to salon budgets.
- Oversee daily cash-out procedures and staff tip-outs.
- Pay invoices, track receipts, and reconcile monthly accounts.
- Assist the bookkeeper with payroll data and reporting.

**6. Marketing Support**
- Assist in creating and implementing marketing campaigns, newsletters, promotions, and giveaways.
- Design brand content and promotional materials.
- Update staff on current promotions and encourage participation.
- Implement tracking systems for promotions and marketing initiatives.

**7. Team Leadership and Culture**
- Lead, manage, and hold the team accountable for their performance.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Conduct regular check-ins with staff to ensure alignment with salon goals.
- Encourage teamwork, professional growth, and maintain a positive salon culture.

**Desired Skills and Experience**

**Pay Structure & Benefits**
- **Base Salary**: $52,500 per year
- **Phone Allowance**: $960 annually
- **Parking Allowance**: $1,200 annually
- **Full Benefits Package**: $1000 annually

**Total Compensation Package**: $55,620 annually
